%X Evapotranspiration has an important role in the processes of the hydrological cycle and its monitoring can be applied to various types of studies and activities related to water resources. This paper presents an analysis of the performance of the hydrological model MGB-IPH in the simulation of evapotranspiration. For this a case a study was realized in the watersheds of the rivers Paraíba and Piancó both located in the state of Paraíba, Brazil. For the evapotranspiration simulation of the MGB-IPH model was utilizated as input data, precipitation and discharge information of ANA stations. The validation was done using the data from the remote sensing product MOD16A2. This remote sensing product is from the MODIS sensor that is coupled on NASAs Terra and Aqua satellites. The results showed that even with low data availability for calibration of the MGB-IPH model, it was able to satisfactorily represent the evapotranspiration of the studied region. It was possible to notice that the results generated by the hydrological model used follow the same tendency of variation of the data obtained through the product MOD16A2. The performance of the simulations was evaluated by applying the Kling-Gupta efficiency coefficient, in which the best results were recorded for the catchment area of the Piancó river, where the maximum value was reached of 0.723.
